Event Assistant and Event Internship
Job Description

Gain hands on experience while learning about events and how to provide exceptional customer service with us at Northern Oaks Events as an Event Assistant or Event Intern! We are looking for individuals who are outgoing, creative problem solvers and who are not afraid to do what it takes to get the job done.
Northern Oaks Events is a family owned and operated Event Venue located in Sauk Rapids, MN. The property was first a home before being converted into a venue which resonates throughout the property and our team as we welcome guests and vendors to celebrate some pretty special moments. We work hard, play harder and hold ourselves to high standards, in order to provide the high level of service we strive for our clients and guests. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Event Setup + Logistics
-
Cleaning and organizing the venue spaces (indoor and outdoor) before, during, and after each event
-
Assist with event set-up including tables, chairs, linens and ceremony benches in accordance with Layout + Event Order

Ensure the venue is guest ready for each phase of the event (all staff in place, music on, decorations precisely placed, etc.)

Assist with “Flip” - transitioning space from one wedding to the next (may be late night)

Assist with day to day needs of an outdoor venue (ie: landscaping, cleaning restroom facilities, doing dishes, etc.)
Guest Services

Be present and available to assist Event Manager with accommodating any client needs that arise

Greet guests upon arrival to property, providing directions, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere

Assist with parking - driving golf cart and directing vehicles where to park
Vendor Coordination

Assist vendors with set up location, parking and any necessary needs from the venue (power, water, tables, etc. . .)
Event Execution

Support the Event Manager

Use creative strategies to quickly and efficiently respond to any unforeseen issues

Assist bartenders with service, bar backing or setup as needed
-
Be vigilant during event for any unusual behaviors, situations or property issues to ensure guest, vendor and team safety

Physical // Ability to lift (up to 30-50lbs), move, and work on your feet, often for long hours. Ability to work in all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold) as much of our time is spent outdoors, in the fresh air!

Flexibility // Availability to work weekends and evenings.

Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or events is preferred
HOURS
-
The position will begin as seasonal and part time (around 15-30 hours per week depending upon schedule and availability) with the potential to go part time year round for the right candidate

Pay Rate $15-$20/hour depending on experience
